Privacy Policy

Enkvik ("we," "us," or "our") operates enkvik.com — Pakistan's local services marketplace. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights over it. Please read it carefully before using our platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: directly from you, automatically when you use the platform, and from third parties.
1.1 Information you provide
- Account registration: full name, email address, phone number, password, and account type (customer or service provider).
- Profile information: profile photo, city/area, a short bio, and for service providers — business name, service categories, certifications, and portfolio photos.
- Task requests: service description, location (city or neighbourhood), preferred dates, and budget range posted by customers.
- Reviews and ratings: star ratings, written feedback, and report content submitted about service providers.
- Communications: messages you send through our contact form or support email.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device identifiers.
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, links clicked, time spent on pages, and referral URLs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies (required for login), preference cookies (e.g., language), and analytics cookies (see Section 7).
1.3 Information from third parties
- If you sign in via Google or another OAuth provider, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider.
- We do not purchase data from data brokers or marketing lists.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the service: create and manage your account, match customers with relevant service providers, and display provider profiles and reviews.
- To communicate with you: send OTP verification codes, booking confirmations, support responses, and important platform updates.
- To improve the platform: analyse usage patterns, fix bugs, run A/B tests, and improve search relevance.
- To protect users: detect fraud, investigate reports, enforce our Terms of Service, and keep the platform safe.
- To comply with law: respond to lawful requests from Pakistani authorities and meet obligations under applicable Pakistani law.
- Marketing (opt-in only): send newsletters or promotional messages only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:
- Between platform users: when a customer posts a task, their city and service description are visible to matching providers. A provider's profile, ratings, and reviews are publicly visible to customers.
- Service providers (vendors): we use trusted third-party services including cloud hosting, media storage (Cloudinary), email delivery, and analytics. These vendors process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
- WhatsApp sharing: when you tap "Share on WhatsApp," the page URL is passed to WhatsApp via a standard deep link. No personal data other than the public URL is transmitted; WhatsApp's own privacy policy governs that interaction.
- Legal obligations: we may disclose information if required by Pakistani law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Enkvik or its users.
- Business transfers: if Enkvik is acquired or merges with another entity, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance.
4. Location Data
You provide your city or neighbourhood manually when creating a task or setting up a provider profile. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates from your device. Location information you provide is used solely to match you with nearby service providers and to show relevant results.
5. Payments and Financial Information
Enkvik does not currently process, store, or have access to any payment information (such as card numbers, bank account details, or mobile wallet credentials), because the platform does not yet offer in-app payments.
Any payment for a service happens directly between the Customer and the Provider, outside of Enkvik, and is not visible to us in any way.
If we introduce in-platform payments in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe how that payment data is collected, used, and protected — before the feature becomes available to you.
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
- Reviews and ratings associated with your account are anonymised (not deleted) to preserve the integrity of the review system.
- Server and access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.
7. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:

8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, access-controlled databases, and regular security audits. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to log out of shared devices.
9. Children's Privacy
Enkvik is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: update inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings, or by contacting us.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Opt-out of marketing: unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the link in each email.
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time (this does not affect processing before withdrawal).

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you by email or in-app notification. Continued use of Enkvik after the updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.
12. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, including applicable data protection provisions. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.
